They are pretty durable but the comfort isn't so great if you aren't used to wearing really narrow shoes.

He said they are very comfortable. He normally wears a 9 1/2 but asked me to order a 10 so I'm not sure if that was simply preference or if they run a little small. He had a pair of PUMAs similar to these for about 4 years that he had almost worn out so it was time for new ones.
